At a couple points during my time as a graduate student at Oregon State university I worked at the Special Collections and Archives Research Center on The PaulingBlog. I spent a lot of time there looking through the Ava Helen and Linus Pauling Papers to do research for the blog posts covering Linus Pauling’s scientific work, social activism, and other facets of his life and career. Being used to trying to make the most out of the scarce resources available to me for my graduate research, the Pauling Papers offered such a bounty that many of my projects ended up producing multi-post pieces. Sometimes my work would take me out of the archives to talks related to Pauling’s work.
